Halff, a Dallas-based engineering and architectural firm, has completely rebuilt their brand with the help of B2B agency Spire.
In 1950, Dr. Albert Halff founded his one-man consulting firm with the core tenet of “focus on people, treat them well and success will follow.” His servant leadership, and “people before profits” mentality, still resonates within the firm today. With 1,400 employees, across 28 different offices in five states, the firm is one of the nation’s largest engineering and architectural consulting firms.
With its last branding efforts occurring in 2007, Halff wanted to modernize its image in advance of their 75th anniversary. In addition to portraying a more dynamic firm with expanded services, Halff wanted to humanize the brand and portray a people-first image that was uniquely dedicated to improving the lives of coworkers, clients, and communities.
Spire crafted new messaging and positioning with the help of Halff’s practice leaders. The enhanced messaging then led to the creation of an updated Halff logo and entirely new color palette that communicates creativity, trust, friendliness, dependability, and calm.
The new Halff website was a substantial 275 core pages, plus countless news stories, projects, insights and more. To ensure an authenticity that Halff was truly “purposed for people,” the new website featured imagery of 220 Halff employees. The site photography, along with Spire’s manifesto video, were shot by the critically-acclaimed Stewart Cohen.
“This is an exciting chapter in Halff’s history, helping our firm build toward tomorrow while still honoring Dr. Halff’s legacy,” says Jodi Hausenfluke, VP and director of PR and communications at Halff. “Spire did a wonderful job understanding the humanity of our brand, and building something that truly stands out in our industry.”
Beyond a new business system and sales enablement materials, Spire worked with Halff leadership and employees around the country to articulate the culture of the firm. The new Halff S.E.R.V.E.S. outlines the guiding principles of the company, and its impact on people and communities.
“Our relationship with Halff is the way that client-agency relationships should be,” says Mike Stopper, principal and EVP of client services and planning. “The work is collaborative, insightful, fun, and genuinely reflects who and what this firm stands for—people.”
Halff is an ENR Top 100 firm, a 2023 Top Workplaces USA recipient, and its CEO is the current Top Company Leader by the Dallas Morning News Top 100 Workplaces Awards.
Spire won the firm’s business back in July 2021 following a review. Spire was founded in 2005 and today is one of the country’s most-awarded B2B agencies. In addition to Halff, notable clients include Mouser Electronics, TrinityRail, Morris & Dickson, Cole Ranch, and State Bank of Texas.
