It’s officially fall in Texas, and while that might not mean crunchy leaves or sweater weather just yet, we’re finally getting sub-90-degree days! Whether you’re grabbing an iced pumpkin spice latte or cozying up under a blanket, our latest Spire on Spotify playlist, Vol. 56: Sweater Weather, will help you feel all the fall vibes.

Lexi, what is the name of your album?

I went with Sweater Weather because it totally captures the fall mood I was going for, and there’s a song on the playlist by the same name that really sets the tone.

How would you describe this mix?

I wanted to do something that felt more like fall than Halloween since my co-worker Alex Flores has done some killer Halloween-themed playlists (Vol. 49: Haunted Harmonies and Vol. 15: Let’s Boogey, Man). This one’s more about soft instrumentals and introspective, sometimes melancholic songs, though it gets a little eerie here and there too.

What is your favorite song, and why?

I’d say “Jaws” by Dizzy. It’s got a funky beat but still feels a little melancholy. The lyrics about growing older sneaking up on you feel super relatable for this time of year.

Any specific memory that comes to mind when you listen?

This feels like a cop-out, but I did put a lot of songs on here that I do listen to in the fall. It makes me think of breathing in the first crisp fall breeze with a sigh of relief: “Summer’s over. Good things are coming.”

What makes your playlist unique?

It’s definitely more introspective than your typical fall playlist. It’s about creating a moment to reflect and slow down, which I think makes it stand out.

Thanks for the melancholy mix, Lexi. Stay tuned to the Spire Blog and Spotify Channel for our next agency playlist.
