Spire’s Senior Designer Alex Flores has been named to the prestigious 32 Under 32 list by Ad 2 Dallas. The class of 2023 was honored at an in-person gala at Vouv Dallas on Thursday, November 9.

Ad 2 Dallas is an affiliate of AAF Dallas for advertising professionals who are 32 years of age or younger. The organization is focused on meeting the needs of Big D’s young advertising, marketing, and communications professionals and students, while being the largest award-winning Ad 2 chapter in the nation.

The 32 Under 32 award began locally in 2017 to recognize young professionals in our industry who make a real difference early in their careers. Alex joins the seventh class of professionals, and is the third Spire employee in a row to make the prestigious list.

In two short years with the agency, Alex has already racked up an unbelievable four Platinum, six Gold, 15 Silver, two Bronze, two Honorable Mentions, and the AAF Dallas Extreme Makeover award, while helping Spire be named the 2023 Agency of the Year by the DFW Chapter of the American Marketing Association.

Alex’s diverse talents have been recognized for websites, packaging, illustration, trade show booth design, direct marketing, event marketing, and integrated campaigns. In just two award seasons, working on a wide variety of B2B brands and industries, Alex has already compiled 31 industry awards and recognitions from AAF Dallas, AAF District 10, AAF National, DSVC, DFW Chapter of the American Marketing Association, Graphis, Hermes, Muse, and Web Excellence.

But these awards were not just any awards. Alex’s work received the only National ADDY from all of North Texas in 2022. He received two AAF District 10 ADDYs in 2022, and two more in 2023. In 2022, he had received two bulbs from the DSVC Dallas Show – the agency’s first awards in that show ever. He followed it up in 2023 with yet another.

In January this year, Alex’s work was featured in the Top 10 Packaging You Shouldn’t Miss feature from Packaging of the World. Later in May, Alex’s work was prominently featured in Dieline. And he has been shortlisted for Communication Arts for two years in a row, being the only designer in North Texas to have multiple entries make the cut in 2022.

“Spire is incredibly proud of Alex’s addition to this year’s 32 Under 32 class,” said Mike Stopper, EVP Client Service & Planning at Spire. “He is among the most-awarded designers in all of North Texas and an important part of Spire’s success.”

Alex graduated from the highly respected Visual Communications sequence at Texas A&M Commerce, and has been a Dallas agency lifer ever since. He began as a design intern at 70kft, then went on to full-time employment with the prestigious local shops of Caliber Creative, Recreation Dallas, and now Spire, where he has been for over two years.

“Alex Flores has always been dedicated to high standards in craft and conceptual thinking,” said Joshua Ege, Assistant Department Head & Associate Professor of Visual Communication at Texas A&M Commerce. “As a student and professional, his work has been awarded locally, nationally, and internationally. Through all that success, he has managed to stay grounded. That combination proves he is undoubtedly deserving of this honor of being among Dallas’ best.”
