The 61st Annual AAF Dallas ADDYs recently took place at Gilley’s Dallas on Wednesday, March 1st. Dallas is a Top 10 advertising market nationwide, and this show is the local industry’s biggest night.
With an impressive nine ADDYs, AAF District 10’s most-awarded B2B agency was also the night’s third most-awarded agency, taking home one Gold, five Silver, two Bronze, and the special Extreme Makeover award.
The American Advertising Awards, affectionately known as “The ADDYs,” are the largest advertising awards program in the United States that celebrates creativity and excellence in advertising. A jury of advertising peers from around the nation judged the local competition, determining who received the honor of Gold, Silver, and Bronze ADDYs.
Spire’s work for the Austin law firm Slack Davis Sanger had an incredibly successful night with six awards. The inaugural work for the client was around their 18th annual Oktoberfest event, which Spire rebranded as “Slacktoberfest – lawyers, lagers and lederhosen.” The German Stein invitation was awarded a Gold for Invitation, Silver for Packaging, and Silver for Direct Marketing. The event was named a Silver winner, and the complete campaign received a Silver in the B2B category. And the “Bavaria meets Bat City” icons received a Bronze for Illustration.
Additionally, Kr8om Reserve took home a Silver for Packaging, and Cervey’s 340Beer & Oyster House received a Bronze for Event Marketing. And Morris & Dickson was named the Extreme Makeover winner for the rebranding of the 182-year-old pharmaceutical distributor. This marks the second year in a row Spire has won the Extreme Makeover category.
“What a remarkable ADDYs night for our team and our clients,” said Partner and Chief Creative Officer Kimberly Tyner. “Spire continues to stand out among the very best agencies in one of America’s very best advertising markets.”
AAF Dallas was founded in 1908 and is the local chapter of the American Advertising Federation—the “unifying voice” of the 40,000 professionals in our nation’s advertising industry. The Dallas ADDYs are the first step in a three-tiered competition that culminates into the national American Advertising Awards this summer. It is our industry’s largest creative competition with over 35,000 professional and student entries each year.
