Spire Account Director, Katie Olivier, has been named to the 2023 class of Shining Stars by the Dallas chapter of the American Advertising Federation. She received the honor at the 7th Annual Shining Stars Awards on June 15th at The Room on Main in Dallas.

Inaugurated in 2017, the Shining Stars Awards annually recognizes Dallas’ Top 20 advertising women who are producing thought-provoking and innovative work, breaking through barriers to create something new or forging partnerships that drive growth. These women are community leaders, C-Suite executives, co-founders, executive vice presidents, strategic masterminds, media mavens, and more. They are breaking glass ceilings and elevating the Dallas advertising community to great heights through ambition, work ethic, creativity, and leadership.

“Spire’s PR and tech star is now a Shining Star,” said Mike Stopper, Principal/EVP Client Service & Planning at Spire. “Katie’s contributions and accomplishments in our local industry make her incredibly deserving of this special award.”

Katie’s 28-year career in marketing and PR has focused heavily on high tech, and she speaks a marketing-tech language that practically no one else in Dallas can.

Her client list is a who’s-who of tech titans, including EDS, Texas Instruments, PrimeCo (now AT&T), and Mouser Electronics. In fact, she has worked for over 50 U.S. semiconductor, high-tech, and telecommunication clients. She has also represented various trade associations, including the American Electronics Associations (AEA), Global Semiconductor Alliance (GSA), Reusable Application Specific Intellectual Property (RAPID) Home Plug Alliance, and MIPI Alliance.

In addition to coverage in Associated PressBusinessweekCNET, and USA Today, Katie’s work can also be found in tech pubs like EE Times, EDN, Microwaves & RF, Semiconductor Engineering, SemiWiki, and PV Magazine. Locally, her relationships with the Dallas Business Journal, Dallas Morning News, D CEO, and the Dallas AP News Desk have helped garner press for countless clients.

After graduating from SMU, Katie began at EDS working as a PR specialist on employee comms, corporate comms, and marketing. On the agency side, Katie has been a PR executive, VP, managing director, and group lead at Edelman/GTT Communications, Shelton Group, Sunwest Communications, and now Spire Agency. She has created and led the PR division at Shelton Group and, in 2022, Spire Agency.

In addition to great publicity, Katie’s clients have received various awards, including the International Communicator Award, AAF Dallas ADDY for “Extreme Makeover,” WE Web Excellence, AVA Digital, Muse, and Hermes.
