It was a big night in June when business-to-business branding agency Spire was crowned North Texas’ Overall Marketer of the Year by the DFW chapter of the American Marketing Association. The organization further honored the agency by spotlighting Spire at their recent Executive Luncheon on September 28.

The luncheon was a Marketer of the Year Showcase, and featured a panel consisting of Lifetime Achievement winner Ivonne Kinser from Avocados From Mexico, CMO of the Year winner David Frederick from the YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas, and Spire’s own EVP of Client Service and Planning Mike Stopper. The panel discussed what it takes for an award-winning entry, and the challenges and trends in today’s marketing marketplace.

“It’s an honor being on a panel with stellar marketers like Ivonne and David,” said Spire’s Mike Stopper. “It reinforces that our business-to-business work at Spire stands up against the best marketers and strongest brands in North Texas.”

Earlier this month, Spire COO Steve Gray was interviewed by AdChatDFW about Spire’s big night, winning the Direct Marketing, Healthcare Marketing, and Overall Marketer of the Year.

“This is the first time that Spire has won the Overall Marketer of the Year award,” said Steve Gray, COO at Spire. “It’s a huge honor for us as we look at AMA DFW as being one of the most competitive chapters in the country.”

The American Marketing Association has 30,000 members from 76 professional chapters and 250 collegiate chapters across the U.S. The AMA was formed in 1937 with the merging of two predecessors—the National Association of Marketing Teachers and the American Marketing Society. The mission of the Dallas-Fort Worth chapter is to educate, support, and enhance the performance of its members and marketing professionals in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex.
