WFAA’s Santa’s Helpers celebrates its 53rd year of collecting holiday toys for children throughout the Dallas/Fort Worth counties of Collin, Dallas, Denton, and Tarrant. The cherished local organization will collect toys for 50,000 kids in need this holiday season, and award-winning B2B agency Spire will participate for the first time.
Spire began a new holiday tradition this year by donating bikes to Santa’s Helpers on behalf of its clients, partners, and agency friends. Bikes are the most-requested Christmas gift each year, yet the organization receives very few because of the cost. It was Spire’s intent to give deserving kids the best gift under the tree this year.
The team donated 30 bikes on the last night of Santa’s Helpers as WFAA held a celebratory event at their Young Street Studios in downtown Dallas. Among festive music, the Chick-fil-A cows, and Santa himself, the Spire team jingled all the way downtown to make the donation to Meteorologist Pete Delkus, who has been the spokesperson for the cause for the last 18 years.
“Growing up in Dallas, I’ve watched Santa’s Helpers on WFAA for as long as I can remember,” said EVP Mike Stopper of Spire. “It is a privilege to be part of this local tradition, and to say thank you to our clients and agency friends by doing good for others.”
“It has been incredibly rewarding participating in Santa’s Helpers this year,” said Chief Creative Officer Kimberly Tyner. “We are all so blessed, so it feels good to give to others this holiday season as we celebrate how much goodness we’ve received over the last year.”
Spire ends 2022 with the most awards in the agency’s history, and one of its strongest performance years as well. To stay up to date on Spire news, awards, and blog posts, subscribe to our Spire Wire newsletter.
