At Spire, our work lives at the intersection of strategy and design. Whether we’re helping clients rethink positioning or bring a new brand identity to life, every project benefits from a fresh perspective. As we kick off the year, Fresh February is our reminder to reset, refocus, and bring new energy into everything we build. This month’s playlist sets the tone—equal parts focus, experimentation, and forward motion.
Introducing our newest Spire on Spotify playlist, Vol. 64: February Fresh. It’s about embracing that reset. This playlist captures the sound of starting clean and moving forward, fueling our team as we take on new work and new creative challenges.
Jason, what is the name of your album?
My playlist is called February Fresh; it’s less about the calendar month and more about the feeling. It’s that moment when things finally click—ideas feel lighter, focus sharpens, and momentum starts to build. This playlist captures that reset as we begin a new year with new work, setting a calm but confident tone for what’s ahead. It’s the kind of energy that makes starting anew feel easy and progress feel natural.
How would you describe this mix?
February Fresh is a mix designed to feel clean, motivating, and unforce; music that helps clear your head while still pushing things forward. Perfect for long work sessions and fresh starts, it’s meant to play in the background and help to inspire progress.
What was your inspiration behind it?
This playlist reflects how our design team is approaching the new year: open-minded, focused, and ready to build. It’s the soundtrack to starting with intention and carrying that energy into our client work.
What is your favorite song, and why?
Roy Orbison’s “Working for the Man.” There’s something timeless about the honesty in it. It captures the quiet grind of showing up, putting in the work, and carrying responsibility without dressing it up or over-romanticizing it. It’s a reminder that behind every finished project is real effort—and that kind of straightforward work ethic still resonates.
“Begin anywhere.”
– John Cage
If your playlist was a brand, what would it be and why?
REI. This brand represents fresh thinking rooted in purpose, adventure, and long-term thinking. It’s a brand that values doing things the right way over doing them quickly, and that mindset mirrors how this playlist is meant to function. The music supports steady momentum, encouraging focus, care, and intention.
What makes your playlist unique?
This playlist is built for process, not performance. Every song is chosen to help you settle into flow—it’s music that keeps energy steady without distracting from thinking, designing, and building. The tracks are calm, intentional, and motivating in subtle ways, creating space for focus, clarity, and forward motion.
