Let’s be real—work isn’t just work. It’s where ideas are born, energy is shared, and (if you’re lucky) the occasional dance break sneaks in. Whether you’re grinding through deadlines or kicking off the weekend, there’s one thing that always ups the mood: music. Enter Spire’s latest Spotify playlist, Vol. 59: Office Party, curated by Partner and Chief Creative Officer Kimberly Tyner.

This upbeat, genre-blending mix keeps things moving without being too much. It’s got rhythm, it’s got energy, and it definitely has some style. Whether you’re at your desk or hosting a small gathering at home, this playlist sets the tone for good vibes and better conversations. It’s not all-out dance music, but don’t be surprised if your shoulders start to sway.

Kimberly, what is the name of your album?

Office Party—because it’s the kind of vibe that makes you feel like you’re in a fun, slightly elevated setting … even if you’re just getting stuff done. It’s not too loud, not too chill—it keeps the energy flowing.

How would you describe this mix?

Upbeat. Vibey. Moves without overwhelming. It’s not club music, but some of the songs lean dance-y. Think fun, elevated background music that keeps things light and energized. I tested it at home during a poker night with about 20 friends over; I needed something to keep the mood lifted but didn’t distract from the conversation. It worked perfectly.

It’s also great when you really need to dive in and focus, whether that means knocking out a presentation, staying late to finish something important, or just getting in the zone. A playlist with the right rhythm and energy can help you stay present and push through the mental clutter. This one’s built to carry you.

Music with a strong beat stimulates the brain—making you more alert, focused, and alive.”

What was your inspiration behind it?

I love playlists that feel cohesive but still surprise you—something you can put on and trust to carry the vibe from start to finish. When I started curating this one, I kept thinking about how much I admire Elton John—not just for his music, but for how he constantly reinvents himself and collaborates across generations. His recent remixes, especially “Cold Heart” and “Hold Me Closer” really struck me. They’re smart, unexpected, and completely fresh, yet still rooted in the heart of his originals.

That idea of bridging musical generations really resonated with me. “Hold Me Closer” is such a standout track that I wanted to build a playlist worthy of it—something Elton himself might enjoy. So, I filled it with songs that carry a similar spirit: polished, vibrant, stylish, and just really fun to listen to. It’s upbeat, a little nostalgic, and designed to keep the energy flowing.

“I’ve had the most incredible time working with younger artists and producers. It’s a joy to hear my music with a fresh perspective.”

– Elton John

What is your favorite song, and why?

It should come as no surprise that it’s “Hold Me Closer,” the remix of “Tiny Dancer” by Elton John and Britney Spears. I’ve always felt connected to Elton and his music; “Tiny Dancer” has been one of my all-time favorite songs for as long as I can remember. This updated version is just so good. It captures the emotion of the original but makes it feel fresh and alive in a whole new way. I never get tired of it.

Other favorites include “Watermelon Sugar,” which has a great feel and energy, and “Levitating” by Dua Lipa that takes me to a relaxed, happy time with friends. And through creating this playlist, I realized I really love the sound of Harry Styles.

If your playlist were a brand, what would it be and why?

Maybe the W Hotel or a well-designed co-working space with a rooftop bar. It’s modern, curated, and confident—the kind of playlist that elevates both the room and your rhythm.

Any specific memory that comes to mind when you listen?

“Fast Car” always takes me back. I remember driving around with one of my closest friends in high school, singing that entire Tracy Chapmanalbum from start to finish. It was one of those core memories—freedom, friendship, and music—on repeat. I love the updated version that’s on this playlist (and even the country version that’s not). It’s amazing how a song can evolve but still hold that same emotional weight.

Another standout memory is sitting on a patio at the Wynn in Las Vegas, watching the Lake of Dreams show as “Levitating” by Dua Lipa came on. Surrounded by friends with a craft cocktail in hand, listening to music pulsing across the water, I was relaxed, joyful, and feeling just a little magical. This playlist taps into that exact feeling.

What makes your playlist unique?

It’s that blend of groove and polish—perfect for focused work or your next gathering. And most of all, it doesn’t get old. It meets you where you are.

I also like to create long playlists—a “set it and forget it” approach—so this one runs for several hours without repeating the mood. It’s the kind of background energy you can trust to keep the vibe going all day.

This mix combines fresh tracks with reimagined and beloved throwbacks—from updated Bee Gees and Kate Bush to Human League’s “Don’t You Want Me” and classics from Elton John. Alongside modern artists like Harry Styles, Dua Lipa, and the driving beats of Calvin Harris, Avicii, Ellie Goulding, and Tiësto, it creates a layered, feel-good sound that bridges decades and keeps the energy just right.

Whether you’re heads-down in deep work or pouring drinks for a few friends, press play on Office Party and let the vibe lift the room. Stay tuned to the Spire Blog and Spotify Channel for the release of our next playlist.
