Spire Agency received a prestigious national ADDY from the American Advertising Federation (AAF), one of the industry’s largest annual award shows. This is Spire’s second national ADDY, with the first won in 2022.

The American Advertising Awards are a three-tiered competition, with over 35,000 professional and student entries each year from 15 different AAF districts. This year’s American Advertising Awards were recently held in Salt Lake City as part of ADMERICA, the AAF’s annual national conference, where just 117 professional ADDYs were awarded from that total pool of entries.

“The American Advertising Awards are the largest and statistically the toughest advertising competition,” said Steve Pacheco, President and CEO of the American Advertising Federation. “The competition represents the true spirit of creative excellence by recognizing all forms of advertising and cultivates the highest creative standards in our industry.”

The road to the national competition began at the local AAF Dallas competition in February, where Spire walked away with seven ADDYs. The journey then continued to the AAF District 10 competition in May where Spire received two Silvers and one honorable mention.

Spire’s Silver Addy at the American Advertising Awards was in the Illustration category, for the series of custom Slacktoberfest event illustrations for client Slack Davis Sanger. The illustrations each include a combination of iconic and Bavarian symbols, including a gavel crossing over a skewer with a bratwurst on it, a scale with hops on the left and a pretzel on the right, a bubbling beer stein sitting on top of law books, and a 30th anniversary logo, among others.

“A second national ADDY truly solidifies Spire’s place in the country’s creative landscape,” said Kimberly Tyner. “We’re once again proud to represent Dallas advertising talent on the national stage.”

The American Advertising Federation, headquartered in Washington, D.C., is the “unifying voice” of the 40,000 professionals in our nation’s advertising industry and the oldest national advertising trade association in the United States. The AAF also has 15 district operations, 200 local federations, and more than 200 AAF college chapters, with over 6,500 student members.
