As summer draws to a close, Spire was proud to partner with Hope Supply Co. to support local children gearing up for the new school year. Spire donated 48 backpacks filled with essential school supplies for children within the community. Additionally, the agency and its client, Mouser Electronics, Inc., volunteered on-site to help fill 250 backpacks, which will be distributed to Hope Supply Co.’s partner agencies the week of July 29 for the 2024 – 2025 school year.
Hope Supply Co. has been a beacon of hope for vulnerable communities in the Dallas area, particularly homeless and at-risk children. The organization’s mission revolves around providing essential items to social service organizations, including homeless shelters, domestic violence shelters, and transitional housing. With a robust network of 50 partner agencies, Hope Supply Co. ensures that donations reach the hands of those who need them the most, making a tangible difference in the lives of countless families.
Research shows that children who have their own school supplies are more creative, develop better attitudes toward learning, and achieve higher grades. According to Deloitte, this school year, parents are expected to spend nearly $600 on school supplies per child. Because this sum is ever-increasing, partnering with community organizations like Hope Supply Co. is crucial to ensure every student can start the school year prepared for success.
“We want kids to return to the classroom fully equipped for growth, which is why we not only donated supplies but also helped to organize and assemble backpacks at Hope Supply Co.,” said Spire Agency Partner and Chief Creative Officer Kimberly Tyner. “We were excited to have members of the Mouser team join us!”
The school supplies donated by Spire included backpacks, Crayola® crayons, zippered pouches, glue sticks, erasers, spiral notebooks, heavy duty three-ring binders, No. 2 pencils, pencil erasers, wooden rulers, BIC® ballpoint pens, and highlighters. Each item was carefully chosen to ensure students have the tools they need to succeed and thrive in their studies.
Beyond school supplies, Spire’s volunteers also contributed to Hope Supply Co.'s broader mission by packaging nearly 1,500 diapers. As the largest nonprofit distributor of diapers to those in need, Hope Supply Co. provides nearly 3 million diapers to partner agencies in the community annually.
