Spire has produced many memorable fundraising and networking events in partnership with United Way of Metropolitan Dallas, but the largest and grandest by far was the United Way’s Community Leaders Conference event which was held at the Circle R Ranch. UWMD and United Way of Tarrant County were chosen to co-host the association’s annual conference, which brings community leaders from across the nation together for a week of training capped by a networking event put on by the host city. For many attendees, the conference marked their first visit to North Texas and the Lone Star State.

Spire was enlisted to plan and execute an evening that would leave a lasting Texas-sized impression on the United Way delegation. The “It’s Cool to be a Cowboy” event did just that for the 500-plus attendees, each of which received rustic horseshoe puzzles housed in burlap sacks that included an invite to the night’s festivities. After arriving on buses to the Circle R Ranch, attendees dined on BBQ and frozen margaritas while boot-scootin’ to country music, bartering on the armadillo races, taking spins on the mechanical bull and, finally, watching a real Texas rodeo and United Way-branded firework display.

From beginning to end, the event was steeped in Texas flair…the United Ways of Metropolitan Dallas and Tarrant Counties were beyond thrilled with the impression left upon their colleagues from across the nation and thanked Spire for (to quote our client directly) making them “look like rock stars.”
